Cosmetic Fillers
In addition to BOTOX® or DYSPORT®, our practice also offers JuvedermXC® and Restylane®. Another excellent solution to wrinkles and other signs of aging, JuvedermXC® and Restylane® are a hyaluronic acid gel that occurs naturally in the body, that allows Dr. Young to gently reduce fine lines around the lips, mouth, chin and cheeks. JuvedermXC® and Restylane® are completely biodegradable and contain no animal proteins, so it is safe and natural. It is particularly effective in preventing lipstick bleeding and in filling fine, superficial lines in the chin and cheeks. Anesthetic cream is applied for 30 minutes to minimize discomfort from the injections. Dr. Young frequently uses a small cannula to deliver the product to the desired location to minimize bruising. The injection process requires only about 30 minutes, with results that can last for six months or longer. JuvedermXC® and Restylane® injections can be repeated as necessary, usually once or twice a year. Slight swelling is common with this procedure and usually subsides within a couple of days. Some patients may also experience mild bruising, which can be camouflaged with make-up.
Volume Enhancement & Contouring Injectables
Dr. Young primarily uses Juvederm VolumaXC® to add volume to the cheeks. Volume loss in the cheek ara creates a flat, divided cheek of the aging face. Adding volume with Juvederm VolumaXC® restores the cheek to a more youthful, single convexity. Dr. Young uses a small needle and/or cannula to distribute the product, with minimal bruising or swelling. The effects of Juvederm VolumaXC® typically last about 18 months in Dr. Young's experience with the product.
Radiesse™ is a filler used to restore volume to cheeks, chin, jawlines, and temples. It is made of a naturally occurring substance in the body called calcium hydroxyapatite. After Radiesse™ is injected, the body breaks down the gel and replaces it with collagen, creating a natural, smooth contour of the treated area. The effects of Radiesse™ injections typically last for one year. Slight swelling, bruising, and redness of the injected skin generally disappear in 24 to 48 hours.
